is a AAPI female-founded small business that produces period products and accessories that doubles as art pieces for your home.

Handmade by Chris, the founder, in Chicago, IL, these expressive, functional pieces are crafted to not only fit your decor, but to also shine light on the beauty of your period cups and discs.

Gone are the days of hiding them in a drawer. With stunning antimicrobial finishes smoother than glass that makes cleaning a breeze, you’ll want to keep these out to admire.

How it started

Moona was born out of my own dilemma:

I had nowhere clean, dry, or even remotely stylish to keep my period cups and discs. Plastic bags trapped moisture and leaches toxins — into my 🐱.. Silicone collected lint and fur. Cloth bags? Anything but fresh.

By 2024, I’d had enough. In a ceramics class, I made myself a simple holder — and people immediately wanted one too. That moment sparked a journey of experimenting until I created a patent-pending, “one-size-fits-most” design.

The result is the Moona Stone:: a menstrual cup and disc holder that doubles as functional art — transforming period care from something hidden away into something beautiful, celebrated, and at home in your space.

Why should I choose ceramic over a bag or plastic container?

Fabric pouches trap moisture, and plastic can be hard to fully sanitize. Ceramic is smooth, non-porous, and heat-resistant, making it cleaner, safer, and easier to sterilize. Plus, it doubles as home decor.

Will there be more color options?

We’re testing special color collections that are currently only available at in-person markets or through our local shop partners. If you’d love to see a certain color, send us a DM on Instagram or TikTok — we take requests seriously! When there’s enough interest, we’ll make it happen.

Are there cheaper options?

We’re committed to accessibility, but as a small, local, woman-owned business, our handcrafted, high-quality products reflect the care and materials that go into them.

Will you release a style with a lid or cover?

Not likely — and here’s why. Menstrual cups and discs need airflow to stay dry and fresh. A lid traps moisture, which can lead to bacteria. Our open design is intentional: it keeps your cup or disc clean while also transforming a once-hidden product into a beautiful, visible reminder that there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

How do I clean my holder?

Wash with gentle, unscented soap and water, or boil it along with your menstrual cup/disc to sterilize. Our ceramic is heat-safe up to 400°F. Just avoid sudden temperature changes (like putting a room-temperature holder directly into boiling water), as ceramics prefer gradual shifts in heat.
